Why is my brand spanking new CD-ROM Drive not reading discs?

Ok I basically got a NEW CD-Rom drive, and the computer can detect that its within and everything, but i would put the software that comes with it surrounded by and the installation wouldnt come up, then i toyed next to it, and it came up. Now I have to restart the computer in writ for installation to complete, I put WoW in and the launcher to install wont come up, and i'll put another activity in and it wont read it...WTF is wrong beside it? I am getting extremely irritated with it.

Why is my brand spanking new CD-ROM Drive not reading discs?

move about to device manger and check to see if the driver is install and device is inabled
Most of the time, if you have window xp, there is no have need of to install the drive. Something you need to remember: 1)- The drive have to be set as slave if you have an existing drive; but if it is the merely one, set as master. 2)- The controller, which is a flat cable for CD drives, not for unyielding disk, use the end one for the master, the middle one for slave. 3)- Check adjectives ports, pins, etc... to make sure everything contained by completely.

Why don't you return the CD-ROM drive, and buy a dvd-burner? CD or DVD Burners other come with burner software such as Nero, Creative, etc..

Good luck.
