Why do nation worship the Motorola 68000 processor?

It's a dreadful, terrible processor. I connote think almost it. It has a more reduced instruction set than most Risc processors but it's a Cisc processor. OMG! Why do empire like it so much? The 65C816 have an instruction set with style more complex instructions and it's still Risc. If you're smart you would know that (reduced instruction set)+(Cisc arcitecture)=(really bad processor)



65C816 could supply two registers in one cycle

it take eight cycles for 68000 to do that



65C816 could load surrounded by a number and use that as an adress for another number and use that as an address for a number to be loaded in using merely one instruction, 68000 uses two instructions to do that. You call that a more complex instruction set?

Keep in mind that the 68000 be developed in the mid-1970's, it's over 25 years dated! That's ancient in processor nouns. I have worked beside both Intel and Motorola and back surrounded by the day, the 68000 have flat 24 bit addressing whereas the Intel microcontrollers used segmented address. It was much, much easier to program the 68000.
